In this Photographic Series, “Furnished Ataraxia'', the furniture in which I interact with daily is placed together with other pieces to recreate the feelings I share with these items, which we use to relax or work on. The collages are meant to question what qualities of the furniture we find attractive, whether it is the texture, material, color, size, or design, which we gravitate towards and find comforting or absorbed by. The series is meant to make the viewer question what furniture in their life has these similar qualities and what about those qualities we are so attracted to that allow us to not focus on that item but slightly drift into a peaceful sub-conscious space. Each composition is composed of two separate photographs and is combined to create new pieces of furniture.
