My final major project explored the ideas of self-expression, personas and characterisation of three iconic musicians, such as Elton John, David Bowie and Queen. I explored how fashion plays a big part in creating the onstage persona but how could I show that in a new interesting way. This is where I came up with the vinyl record, The vinyl showed who they were as an artist or at least who they wanted to be within that album. Each record was different from the next they never stuck to trends they all had a unique feel just like the person who was on it. So it got me thinking with each record there was a different persona and personality. I focused on bringing a new look and experience for modern generations as well as older generations to fall back in love with the vinyl record. Because the music these artist play help shape other peoples self-expression.
