Black Lives Matter Protest - Photography

Portland, Maine - Around 2,000 Portlanders headed out on June 5th to protest the wrongful death of George Floyd. When we reached Commercial Street the protesters got face down on the ground for 8 minutes 46 seconds, the same amount of time Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, put his knee onto George's neck, ultimately stopping his breathing. My heart was pounding like a bass drum the whole time. Being around that many people in silence was incredibly powerful.
