Patricia Ruiz Rivera's profile

Wisconsin Book Festival Content (2018-19)

As the Associate Director of the Wisconsin Book Festival, I created, curated and edited strategic content for the festival's Instagram and Twitter accounts, website, and newsletter.

Once the Communications team and I had developed a strategic approach to the content, I:

Created social media and newsletter guidelines whilst tracking metrics in order to ensure the success of festival events.
Edited newsletter and website content, including ads and content published in traditional media outlets.
•Organized the marketing and logistics of over 150 events featuring bestselling fiction and nonfiction authors such as James Patterson, Celeste Ng, Adam Rippon and Rebecca Traister.
•Shared published pieces on social media and tracked performance using Hootsuite Analytics, Google Analytics and internal metrics spreadsheets.

In addition to the increased attention to strategic communications efforts at the Wisconsin Book Festival, our content provided a way for fans to connect and engage with authors, celebrities, and other Madisonians.

The Olympic figure skater, Adam Rippon, drew in over a thousand attendees and was featured on CSPAN's BookTV while the Pulitzer finalist, Tommy Orange, was featured on Wisconsin Public Television. View content here and here.
Launched a new visual branding design to advertise author events on the Wisconsin Book Festival account, which led to a 200% increase in engagement and a 100% increase in followers. Read more content @wibookfest. (August 2018-October2019)
