Sketching Practice... - Perspective
Continuing on with my sketch development, I decided to focus on perspectives of a model this time. I found an item that I figured I could sketch using the skills available to me - which in this case was a lantern I found - and began sketching. Below are images of the lantern I chose to sketch, as each angle representing the angle of the lantern that I drew as well.
I sketched the two angles of the lantern shown above and simplified the shape/design slightly according to what I was comfortable with doing. I wanted to emphasize the form and main features of the lantern rather than focusing too much on the tiny details. Below are pictures of when I completed the sketching portion, and began the sketching part of the overall design. I have included a few different angles of the sketch as well to emphasize the drawing slightly more.
After sketching inevitably comes the shading and colouring etc. Therefore, using the sketch markers available to me, I attempted to shade in different areas of the lantern. I didn't colour the top of the lantern as I didn't feel too comfortable with my shading skills to cover that large of a patch yet. Overall, it seems alright to me, though I still have quite a way to go!
