The Future of History

The Future of History
International Archive Day 2019, Hong Kong.

We were asked to create a one-day-long exhibition space and installation for the Asia Archives Society's contribution to International Archive Day 2019. The theme of 2019's global series of events and exhibitions was Designing the Archives of the 21st Century. We interpreted this brief as a dialogue between history and the future and our first impression was - 'If there is to be a future at all, we must stop creating wasteful temporary exhibitions'.

We created signage, a window installation and a collection furniture from reused, reusable and recycled local materials. These items populated the beautiful 'Hart Hall' exhibition space in the center of Hong Kong, allowing the many exhibitors to show artifacts and information from their archive programs. Exhibitors included M+ Museum, Asia Art Archives, HSBC, The University of Hong Kong and more.
