The Black Fork Bistro Branding

A new start-up bistro restaurant opening in historic downtown Loudonville, Ohio needed a logo and menu design to help brand the new business. The building for the restaurant has been restored and refinished while keeping some of the historic old look, so I used colors that complimented an old style feel but used modern typography.

The client's only requirement in regards to creative direction was to incorporate a river into the logo to represent the Black Fork River that is located near Loudonville that the business is named after. I took a minimalistic and mature approach to reflect this upscale bistro and focused specifically on typography and incorporated a subtle river into the "A".
