Solves surface with CLOTHING, FOOD, SHELTER – I opened a virtual restaurant called Lazy Mang Mu on the theme of FOOD.
What did you eat?
What is the way to eat good food to make life more pleasant? In order to maintain a healthy and high quality life, we buy ingredients at the mart. Organic, non-antibiotics, and haesseop certification are bought in the shopping cart, as they claim to be the most expensive and good, as well as being considered a certification of their value.
These clean ingredients are carefully cooked and placed on the table. Vegetables that claim to be non-pesticides, all the spices and seasoned chunks. Ingredients are difficult to identify. The fact that you can not see the essence helps you close your eyes and turn away from reality.
A sea otter wrapped in a hot dog bug. A hedgehog who is fighting with a stolen fork. A fox who crouched down and transformed into curry. A pig who is swimming with himself from the past after got minced into a ham. A Shar Pei who is mixed with walnuts in a salad bowl.The work touches the inside of a viewer who is exposed to the picture in a defenseless state. And ask an unpleasant question. How many facts have been covered by hand for ‘us’ for ‘me’.
What did you eat? This project provides an opportunity to meet the past of groceries in this modern society which is full of already cooked food. In long term, this project throws a question about the violence which is made and agreed by majority of society – ‘Convenience’. The goal of this project is to bring audience to the uncomfortable and uneasy world made by small and cute images.
