SECOND FLOOR ABOVE THE OCEAN

Underneath us/Above it. The second floor above the ocean is an immersive site-specific installation of an unspecific landscape element in the urban space. Manipulating the perception of the physical world, offering another perspective and a sensorial experience of the ocean inside the city walls; limiting it. It provokes awareness of the inherent unreliability and uncertainty of the world around us - whether we choose to believe what we see or hear to be real, or we question it.
As viewed from the second-floor we bring the ocean in the city confined in a limited space.
Ocean rising swallow whole cities centimeter by centimeter every year because of global warming. /About 71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water.
