Deconstruction in terms of fashion as garments that are unfinished, coming apart, recycled, transparent and grunge. It is the literal dismantling of clothes in order to destroy fashion. To better understand the philosophy behind the statement, look at other forms of French deconstruction through philosophy and other aesthetic constructions. It is like going beyond the stereotypical fashion, by innovating something new creation. Gill suggests the fashion style of deconstruction, called “Le Destroy,” by the French, is an intentional effort at unfinished forms that are recycled. Rei Kawakubo from Japan, Karl Lagerfeld, Martin Margiela from Berlin, Germany, Ann Demeulemeester and Dries Van Noten are the designers in this category.
My piece is also as a source of inspiration from Martin Margiels's deconstructed unfinished garment designed pieces. We mainly as stylists are aiming not at exactly designing the pieces but deconstructing the originals by first sourcing those garments from the local markets. That can be second handed as well to add value to the up cycling concept applied to the same. Then those garments are being styled by deconstructing them to give a new look. Thus, its all about style to the eyes.
