Program Highlights

Bachelor of Visual Arts in Interior and Spatial Design offers students to learn the design process, research methodology. This semester provides scope to understand the introductory-level experience of problem-solving techniques, skills through practical assignments in prototyping and testing. Here you will understand how Design acts and in what form and material. This semester allows you to learn to work in groups and individuals in the studio environment. You will go through case studies and examples to understand the Design process, Chronological studies for analysis of designed objects/systems/environments and their eclectic evolution through technology change. Simple exercises in design creation/recreation through mock-ups/montages/pasteboards using primary materials such as paper, board, wood, etc. You need to show an awareness of the relevance of form and space in 3D Design.

Further, you should inculcate synthesized and integrated design solutions and produce a variety of concepts and finished physical models. You will earn experience and expertise in Paints– Protective coating paints, types of paints – water paints, distempers, cement-based paints, emulsion paints, anti-corrosive paints, etc. –composition, functions, preparation, and application method, painting on different surfaces, defects in painting, etc. and Varnishes (oil and spirit)– French polish, damp proofing finishes, etc. and methods of application.

The students will gather knowledge in the varied forms of art and culture of the world. Handy guidance will be provided on visual thinking, design and fundamentals of drawing.
