Over 4000 exoplanets have been discovered so far – but what would one of these planets look like up close?
Imagine a spacecraft is making the long voyage to one of these planets and lets us witness its journey in uncovering these uncharted landscapes.

This short film is based on experimental two-dimensional prints. Each print was created by monotypes and etching (aquatint) and then digitally converted into three-dimensional landscapes.


2 D  T O  3 D

The animation is named after NASA's Pioneer program. This program explored the moon and the planets of our solar system with unmanned space missions and took the first pictures of the planets.
