The exhibit is designed to be a mobile dark sky, where the viewer has full control over the lighting, and consequently the environment within the dome. The entire dome is replicated to provide the view of a completely dark sky, with views over a million stars and the Andromeda galaxy and several constellations. The middle of the dome hangs a single bulb connected to a dimmer switch in the center of the room, and the viewer adjusts the lighting, from a blinding overexposed room to one of complete darkness, bringing the stars to life. 

The project takes a different approach to tackling light pollution, (or pollution in general). Diverting from the transitional negative and shock factor most campaigns use, we decided to embed the experience using positive and awe connotations for a memorable experience.  

The structure was built in 1:12 scale before a full scale replica of the intended structure, using plans from a 3v geodesic dome calculator.
