Tile for stained walls, elaborated in the Design II subject - UFMG
This tile was made for people who live in critical areas, that suffers from floods. Houses of this people are destroied every flood, and the stains are keep on the walls, like scars, that remind these families the destruction caused by the water.
Thinking about this situation, at first, I created the concept "coagulation", a part of the process of healing, when the blood changes from a liquid to a colloid, forming a blood clot.

This represents the solution I want to achieve, a band-aid for the wall, that would help to heal the scars of the house, caused by the rain and flood, and also, the scars of the families who live there, and get sad every time they look at the house stained.
Based on this concept, I create a tile, made of silicone, fabric and a plastic sticker. The plastic sticker make the instalation easier, and the plastic and fabric keep the manufacturing cheaper. In the fabric, inside of the tile, has an recent discover bacteria, that works like the proces of coagulation, but in water. The fabric absorves the moisture of the wall and the silicone prevent the damage of the tile.
Also, the prints on the tiles are customized. In this case, I made them based in the relationship of a mother and her daughter, creating a recognition with the product.
Thank you!
