Matty Robinson's profile

Matthew Robinson - University Portfolio

Throughout this portfolio a variety of my best sketches, paintings and photographs will be presented. Some pieces are taken from my A level art project and others from work i have done in my own time. I consider myself well versed in many design mediums as a result of my willingness to experiment however real life sketches and paintings are definitely my forte.
Monotone studies:
Observational pen study from the Tate Modern Art Gallery.
Chalk and Charcoal study from a secondary image sourced from Google.
Man-made structures - small sketches in pencil and pen:
Acrylic paintings on canvas - Original photos take by me and edited using Photoshop before painting:
As previously mentioned, alongside more traditional methods of painting I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and working from different stimuli, this piece was composed by watering down acrylic paint, pouring it on to canvas and blowing it around to create a marbled effect. Inspiration was taken from one of Peter Dranitsin's paintings (First image on photo grid below that contains close ups of the painting):
Photography exemplification - Interesting architecture from my home town Northampton and a trip my Grandparents went on in New York:
