The photo above is currently unfinished. The project is a leopard gecko and is an animal figurine with movement. I manipulated the clay to form the shape I needed, then used a needle tool to create a mouth and nose.

The principle of design that I believe fits my piece is form. I believe form for my project because the head is very symmetrical and the form of the head is extremely similar to a real leopard gecko.

I happen to have a pet gecko named Shaniqua, which I got the idea to make one. It is evolving very slowly, but will eventually be finished. The symbolism behind this piece is that it represents my pet.

My strengths for this piece are making symmetrical sides and forming clay according to the picture/thing you are recreating. My growing points are finishing projects and cleaning up the sides a little more. I had to halt this project to work on my mid-term assignment, which took priority.

P.S. My computer continued to glitch, and had to rewrite these paragraphs four times. I know I posted this assignment on 11:59 P.M, on Friday the 13th. Bad luck I guess, must be because of the day.
