5. The Early Worm Gets The Bird

The organisms depicted in this drawing are two of the primary decomposers in most ecosystems. I generally avoid drawing with colored pencils because of how time consuming it is for me, but I thought that I would give them a chance to have some variety in the mediums that I used. Out of frustration I took a break from working on this piece. An issue arose when I was coloring the vulture's wing, the colored pencil was not creating even layers of color because of hard sketch lines that created indentations in the paper. I have learned from my ineptitude and impatience. This symbolizes how nothing is safe from being decomposed and how everything can be reduced to serve the needs of other living beings. The colors are all very muted to create a dreadful mood.
