Using Bauer Bodoni as an underlay, Mauwa is a hand drawn typeface I created that consists of multiple patterns.
Bauer Bodoni is a classic typeface with a combination of strokes that are bold and strokes that are thin. This contrast was perfect for the different patterns represented within this typeface.
Each letterform is individually hand drawn with subtle similarities that allow the typeface to be as intricate as snowflakes but yet they represent a cohesive family unit.
