The Art Institute's Fashionable Feast Flier

Design Idea 1
This flier was part of the promotion material used for the art institute’s annual “Fashionable Feast” event, a fashion show used to help raise money for the school and show off the talents of the students. I was part of a class that was chosen to create all the design material for the event like the tickets, posters, logo, social media, and of course the posters. When we began brainstorming ideas together, we decided to hire a photographer at our school to take photos of an abandoned building in San Antonio and then used those photos for our fliers.

We all came up with our own individual designs either using the photos or using ones we found on pexels and then designing them. For my design I wanted to emphasize the event’s themes regarding abandoned building, fashion, clouds, and art. I went through at least 6 different designs for my flier. My first design was of a dress floating down in one of the abandoned building photos. I used the same image of the dress twice by placing it into different photos of the building.
Design Idea 2
I wasn’t really satisfied with the look, so I tried another design. For the next design, I used the image of a model I found on pexels and inserted it into another photo of the building. I also added in the cutout effect from the effect gallery to give it a more artsy look.

Design Idea 3
Still not satisfied, I did a third flier design. For this one I created a sillhouette of the model and combined it with another building photo by using the clipping mask. For the background I added in an image of clouds, also from pexels, onto the design. Afterwards, I added in the cutout effect again, then placed all the information, event logo, and theme logo into the flier. I looked over my design and was happy with the result, as it emphasized each of the show’s themes in it’s visuals while also looking visually appealing.
At the end of the assignment, the event planners  had to choose which of my classes fliers to use for the fashionable feast. And out of all of my classmate’s designs, mine was the one picked for the show’s flier. I consider this design to be one of my most proudest ones I’ve done so far at the art institute.
Images/Logos used
The Fashionable Feast main logo was created by another class working in conjunction with mine in building material for the event and was used in all of the show's promotional items.
The Forgotten By The Clouds theme logo was needed in all the fliers and was created by a fellow classmate in my class, I take no credit for it's design.
