2013 Picture of the Week - Week 17
Last season I noticed, on several occasions, honey bees on my property. It stuck out because sightings have been so very rare in Chester county overall in a decade of shooting. Bee's of all sorts love the "mambo tree" in our backyard – the name I applied to the eastern redbud or Cercis Canadensis before I knew it's true nomenclature. The carpenter bees out-numbered the honey producing variety almost six to one but they appeared to coexist peacefully among the tens of thousands of tiny buds.
