MIŁO MI
Miło Mi is a project of two stools made out of walnut wood. One of them is Miło and the other one is Mi. The form of both stools was derived from the same base. The seat is a circle with a diameter of 300mm, while the legs have been prepared from square beams cut diagonally. After the cut, one beam creates two legs. Both have tenons at their ends. The simple stool construction refers to the design of Skabello stool.
In the further processing phase, each stool was treated differently to give it an individual character. Some people prefer Miło for its firm, definite and simple form. Mi also has fans thanks to the lightness of the form. I am curious to know which stool you prefer. Please write that in the comment.
The joint that I decided to use in the construction is a mortise and tennon with wedges that block the connection. Simple and elegant option. Thanks to the fact that the seat has the right thickness, there is no need to add additional support between the legs. The construction is solid and durable.
Both stools have been finished with OSMO hard wax oil.
Piece of furniture like this can last a lifetime and ages with dignity.
