Open Power Developers Congress
Congress Logo, Postcard, Online Advertising, Agenda, and Signage
The Open Power Foundation already had a beautiful hexagonal logo and handsome logotype. They needed a logo and materials for a Developer Congress – an intensive multi-day bootcamp and conference open to experienced developers.
Event Logo: Since the Congress meant that developers would be actively involved in developing code and learning skills, I inset the Open Power Foundation hexagonal logo into a wrench, and used a bold slab serif in the logotype.
Postcard Invitation: For the Congress marketing materials, I chose stock photos of San Francisco as background images and applied a color shift to make the color range compatible with the event branding.
Online Advertising: Banner ads and website hero images repeated the city image and logotype.
Congress Agenda: The agenda had to be designed and edited on the fly, as sessions were added and removed and rescheduled. I color coded the tracks so that attendees could easily follow topics from day to day.
Event Signage: The Congress signage utilized the event branding – logo, typography, color palette – to guide participants to concurrent workshop sessions and evening social events.
