2D Animation project, created as an ID to support the promotion of the show “Doomsday Preppers”, part of the "Armageddon week" on National Geographic. A young family preparing themselves for Christmas with all actions building up to the big event. The twist in this 30” format is that the family is actually not preparing for a celebration but in contrast – the end of the world. The NG show is based on an ancient Mayan prediction about the apocalypse on 21.12.2012 The stylized 2D drawings are set in limited colours to correspond with the viewer on a symbolic level. The yellow is the basic Nat Geo colour. The violet is used to produce the necessary contrast along with two of the basic colours – black and white. The little boy’s VO is making the contrast between the story and the animation even more impactful, emphasizing on the darkness of the Mayan premonition.
