It’s a Beautiful Night – Light Pollution Threatening the Night Sky
Description:
The goal of this project was to design an emotional and meaningful infographic about pollution.
I chose light pollution, a relatively unknown form of environmental pollution. Light pollution is the use of artificial lights, like street lighting, at night. This leads to a much brighter night sky, negatively affecting the environment.
I created a two-sided brochure. The front side shows the Milky Way galaxy and explains that many people can’t see it anymore because of light pollution. The back side is completely covered by the infographic, comparing the brightness of different light sources. For example, street lighting emits 300 times more light than the full moon.

Schön ist die Nacht – Wie Lichtverschmutzung die Nacht zu zerstören droht
Beschreibung:
Infografiken können nicht nur Informationen vermitteln, sondern auch Emotionen wecken. Für das Thema »Lichtverschmutzung« habe ich beide Elemente kombiniert.
Lichtverschmutzung ist eine vergleichsweise unbekannte Form der Umweltverschmutzung. Sie beschreibt die Aufhellung des Nachthimmels durch künstliche Lichtquellen und die negativen Auswirkungen dieser Lichtquellen auf Mensch und Natur.
Entstanden ist ein Leporello. Auf der Vorderseite ist die Milchstraße in voller Pracht zu sehen, ein Anblick der uns aufgrund von Lichtverschmutzung entgeht. Die Rückseite zeigt verschiedene künstliche und natürliche Lichtquellen und wie stark sich diese in ihrer Leuchtkraft unterscheiden.
