Caslon is a 16-page book exclusively using William Caslon’s beloved 1734 typeface. An informative design project, Caslon explores the rich history, use and distinguishing characteristics of Caslon as well as its influence on typography. I used found images, a selective color pallet and Caslon’s beautifully ornate ornaments as a reoccurring design element to weave throughout the book – a way to maintain constancy and reinforce Caslon as a well designed and easy to read typeface.
