YOUTH POWER PROJECT
CAPTURING YOUTH ACTIVISM IN ACTION

On April 8th 2019, The Youth Power Project joined the Nevada Youth Activist Alliance on for their inaugural NYAA Youth Activist Lobby Day in Carson City.

We wanted to document this important act of democracy in order to share their stories and highlight the actions they are taking to fight for justice.

The brand style we created was meant to capture the energy and power of our young activists with bright colors and distressed textures that feel fresh. I described it as a polished grunge. The road to progress isn't always the smoothest but theirs a light and driving force moving us forward. Our team's communications intern, Autumn Achrem, created the additional assets and logo animations for the video. It was exciting to collaborate with a great editor and cinematographer, Christian Astorga, on this 24hr bus trip from Las Vegas to Carson City and back. The energy, heart, and truth really shone through the video and we are incredibly proud to have this as part of our regular youth curriculum.
Together we followed the 200 youth activist marching toward the state legislative building. And interviewed 4 youth leaders as they prepared to meet with their elected officials and talk to them about important issues that impact their every day lives.
The Youth Power Project is a collaborative partnership with Make the Road Nevada and Camp Anytown Las Vegas where future leaders are taught the importance of community, respect, empowerment, and leadership.
