A year ago Moscow hosted en enormous event - the World Cup. I designed dozens of chalkboards for local restaurants and bars during the championship.
My clients asked me to paint a catchy, arresting messages.
Although I usually prefer to work with chalk and soft pastels, for these boards I took semi-permanent markers Pentel Wet Erase. They are bright, non-transparent and most water-resistant, if compare with other water-based markers.
Sometimes I used soft pastels for making the food illustrations more attractive.
For the inspiration I used a lot of different references: from graffiti to a traditional American signs.
TIP: while wet, it's easy to blend the colours and make magnificent gradients and vivid illustrations!
