OFF KILTER

Harmoniously imbalanced design.

A slightly askew dining table and backless chairs that have subtle detailing that suggests an imbalanced form. Upon further analysis one sees that the form is in fact balanced and a certain level of appreciation is achieved. The legs are formed from cold-tempered blackened steel and the tops are slabs of a special poured concrete.  We have developed a lightweight hybrid concrete by mixing in fiberglass and mixing at a high speed to add air to the consistency (think whipped cream).  The material is cutting edge and called GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete). Dimensions are 84x42x30"h for the dining table and 24x22x18.5"h for the backless chairs.
