The Brief History of
Western Art History
The Body of Art History infographic labels and quickly defines major western art history eras and connects them to the internal anatomy of the human body. The mission of the infographic is to give a memorable way of studying time periods in art history. The audience is college students focusing on art history. This infographic will act as a quick guide using a chronological order, callouts and digital graphics for flow structure.
The contrasting and bright icons are for visual attraction, and should be generally seen from 9 feet away. Besides the text and the highlighting colors, everything was printed and scanned back in and emphasized for a major collage effect. Influences on the design come from Venngage’s infographic study, the Visual blog info design trends, and the timeline is based on the Heilbrunn Art History timeline provided by the Metropolitan Museum.
