• Mick Philpott is an Englishman who gained notoriety as a criminal. He initially received media coverage for his large family (he has fathered 17 children), and his reliance on state benefits.
    In April 2013, following an eight-week trial, Philpott, his wife Mairead, and their friend Paul Mosley were found guilty of the manslaughter of five of Philpott's children with his wife and her child by another man following arson at Philpott's council house in Derby in May 2012. He is serving a life sentence with a minimum of 15 years imprisonment.
