Intro

        For this project we were told to create something that represents us and our family. We were told to talk to our families and find what things we wanted to represent our family. We were essentially branding out family. This was supposed to incorporate some sort of a shield and our family name. For this I thought of thing that I felt represented our Family. Duke was one of those things because my whole family had gone to Duke and is where I plan on attending college. Another thing was travel because y family has traveled all around the world to places like Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Canada, and my personal favorite, London.

Critique 

        During my critique I got many compliments on my work saying that it was simple and that the gradient that I had put on my shield made it look really good. One of the people who were talking to me said that I needed to put a stroke on my leaves going around my shield. I had trouble with this but he helped me use the shape builder tool so that I could put a stroke around it. This change made the whole piece look better making everything uniform.

Pitch

        This piece represents my family and looks ascetically pleasing. I have the big D because that is the Duke logo and is something that represents our Family because everyone in my family went there. I have the cross in the top left because my whole family is christian and we are all very strong christians. I have the plane in the bottom right because me and my family travel all the time. I also have the book and pencil because most of our family is very smart. I used many techniques in this project including the shape builder, pen tool, rectangle tool, gradient tool, etc. All of these tools used work together to create a good piece.
