An exercise in product photography focusing on lighting and post production with the goal of creating a dynamic and convincing image.

I took a different approach than usual for this project. Whereas usually I would try to find perspective and lighting, then shoot until the desired result is achieved and then edit the final composite, this time I took an iterative approach.
I shot and edited the image a total of 6 times before creating the final version. This included setting up lighting and perspective, focus stacking and masking each batch of images and doing basic compositing using different cookies.
The workflow allowed me to experiment alot in regards to lighting, perspective and technique.

After settling on a set of images, I composited them in Photoshop. Raw editing was done in Lightroom.

Some of the crumbs were cut out, but the small crumbs were rendered in Blender using particle systems. Motion blur was added in Photoshop for the sake of consistency and the benefit of working non-destructively using smart objects.
