* (Gorengan)Fried Foods
Gorengan literally means 'fried object', which is sold by this popular geropak. All types of ingredients are fried and sold, including sweet potatoes, pineapple, tempeh (fermented soybeans), tofu, spring rolls and many others. It is undoubtedly unhealthy and a precursor to a heart attack because the oil is fried again several times. Used oil always seems to taste better.

Roadside fried traders are saviors, providing fast snacks for local riders who are more often not trapped in the famous Jakarta traffic jam that can last for hours.

Bakpao is adopted from the name Hokkien which literally means dumplings or meat bread. Originally from China from many Hokkiens who live in Indonesia, the initial recipe for Bakpao uses pork, while many Indonesians have adapted Bakpao to be filled with other Muslim-friendly ingredients such as Chicken or vegetables.
