CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ART AND THEATER AT SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY SIGNAGE PROGRAM: The Department of Contemporary Art and Theater needed a flexible, updatable, ADA complaint signage system for their new building—the Center for Contemporary Art and Theater at Shepherd University. The solution is a highly custom design, which combines both sleek contemporary lines and exposed materials. The interior and exterior signage integrates with the Center’s warehouse/industrial architectural vernacular. Anodized aluminum grid lines and translucent inserts are utilized to create a sleek aesthetic.
CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN THEATER FESTIVAL ENTRANCE WALL DESIGN: The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF), a contemporary and progressive theater company, needed a visually compelling wall design for their new offices in the Center for Contemporary Art and Theater at Shepherd University. The entrance wall’s design conveys both CATF’s mission and vision through a visual history of produced plays and materials. Op Art photo effects, MDF board, corrugated plastic, brushed stainless steel letters, and exposed fasteners are juxtaposed to create a compelling aesthetic which integrates with the Center’s warehouse/industrial architectural vernacular.
