“March, April & May” magazine
“March, April & May” is an annual music “fanzine” published by February Records in Boston, MA. The publication features interviews with underground musical groups as well as essays on music, arts-related topics and current events.
The design aims to keep the simple, DIY feel of a pasted-up, photocopied zine, while offering the quality and readability of a professionally produced publication.
The design aims to keep the simple, DIY feel of a pasted-up, photocopied zine, while offering the quality and readability of a professionally produced publication.
I developed the publication from concept to printed piece. I designed each of the five issues — choosing photos, editing copy, writing headlines and laying out the pages. I have also written multiple pieces for the publication, including conducting interviews and writing the welcome essay for each issue of the magazine. I commissioned other writers to submit interviews and essays and project-managed each piece to meet self-imposed deadlines.
