Cadeira ALICATA
Inspirada na junta de um alicate, desmontável, dobrável e empilhável, não necessariamente nessa ordem, a cadeira Alicata apresentada aqui é o sexto modelo de projeto, porém o primeiro em escala real e totalmente funcional.

O processo de design começou com um esboço bastante grosseiro em uma sobra de papel paraná, tentando entender questões ergonômicas e de estruturação.

Um modelo em escala 1:5 ajudou a acertar as proporções e iniciou a discussão sobre os mecanismos de dobra. Várias hipóteses foram testadas nessa fase, incluindo assentos de tecido e estruturas de aço, essas representadas por arame.

Teste em escala real apenas da junta alicate, partindo de uma modelagem 3D feita no Rhinoceros e com um desenho técnico para auxiliar no processo.

A utilização de madeira maciça de Angelim para fazer as laterais acabou se mostrando inviável, pois, após alguns testes simples de resistência à quedas, o material rompeu no sentido das fibras.

Foi idealizada uma alma metálica de alumínio reforçando a estrutura de compensado que, por ter o sentido das fibras alternadas em suas camadas, mostrou extrema robustez após ter sido submetido a vários testes de queda.

Após o teste em escala real da região da junta com os materiais finais, partiu-se para a confecção das peças completas.

Um elemento de fixação foi usinado em um torno mecânico manual a partir de um tarugo de aço 1020 laminado. Essa peça tem como objetivo unir e atuar como ponto central por onde as laterais pivotam.

O acabamento cobriu os furos e imperfeições, impermeabilizando e protegendo a madeira com verniz marítimo brilhante.
