THE WALL

The wall is a part of a building on Różana Street in Poznań, where I was living for a few years. It has been demolished and considered by locals as a useless leftover that  “should be finally destroyed”. I decided to give this place home, in both literal and non-literal way. By removing parts of the plaster in a shape of furniture, I wanted to refer to the feeling I had when I first saw the ruin - as if the building has been torn down with all it’s content, leaving one wall as a reminiscence of it. The idea came from the fact that you could still see how the building was originally divided into rooms.

The project was was mentored by polish artist Dominik Lejman and exhibited during “Nowa Sila Kuratorska Festival 2014”.
