ANDINA: The heart of peruvian food

MARTIN MORALES: ANDINA
Editorial illustration, 2017

Andina is the cuisine of the Andes of Peru. Features over one hundred delicious and unfussy recipes accompanied by fascinating stories, dazzling photography and paintings. The first ever book to capture the food and scenery of the Andes and the spirit of its people and traditions.

Translated into four languages. Shortlisted for the Stanfords Food and Travel Magazine Travel Cookery Book of the Year.
“A real treat of a book for foodie lovers”  The Independent

At the end of the book are eleven stories, one for each region, that form the backdrop to the recipes. I illustrated each one, as part of the team leaded by art director Dave Brown.
Photographic references were used in most of them. Light, soft, loose, delicate outlines, rough washes with colours bleeding into each other interpreting lines and color. I used graphite pencils and watercolor.
