The challenge was to create a book and then recycle its content for electronic use moving from print to web and tablet. It opens a whole array of discussion as to how one navigates from page to page in the different mediums. It also made me a fervent convert of the iPad.
I pushed the website further with transparencies in order to create more of an environment. Looking back I would have liked to revisit the print version to add more of that flavor there as well.
I am a big believer in sitemaps both to figure the architecture of the site and to empower your audience in finding easily what they are looking for that one might not always have anticipated.
The site will have 6 rotating image, each one highlighting a different letter of the word piraha in the lower right corner of the screen. This is picture 3 out of 6.
Here is a flavor of the book on the site.
And of course it makes sense to use the video and audio capabilities that the web offers.
And you can also book a trip in order to help research and have an experience out of this world.
The tablet was a challenge as I decided to design a landscape and a portrait version. This would probably need to be an app to maximize user experience without too much waiting for download.
