We've been continuously trusted for already four years by Signal, the festival of light in Prague, to develop its visual identity for each consecutive year.

The festival in 2018 had a subtitle Next: 100. The visual style is based on an idea of an organic growth with a vision for next 100 years. We've created seeds of digital structures whose growing algorithms are derived from natural objects that surpasses a human lifetime. Like trees, corals, minerals and more. The beginning of their initial growing phase is visible but nobody can see further than that. They are future proof and continue to grow in a virtual world.

For the year 2017 we've based the visual style on the use of holograms. We've projected 3D objects on a moving screen and captured it using classic stop motion techniques to create the illusion of a holographic content. We've used several abstract stills to diversify the festival campaign and adjusted the moving image for videos.

As we say, cool festivals might dare to make cool things. Like creating a game as a core of their visual identity.​​​ The inspiration for the year 2016 came from signal visual marks. We've developed our own web graphic application that worked with pre-defined vector shapes and their animated stages. Users visiting the festival website could play with the festival identity in the same way we were allowed to spread the graphic design on all the parts of festival media output to bring a unique aspect to each element. The interactive painting tool offered an endless possibilities to play with the identity.

Our first collaboration with the Signal festival led to its visual core and theme. We adapted the visual identity and used lasers to form the festival outlined logo. It was quite fun to experiment with the technology and to find the right environment for capturing the right moment.
