Phase One.
A certain conflict within life, always has a resolution, even if it isn't the ideal. When looked at collectively they make a juxtaposition of ideas. Furthering on from this, I formed a concept for a piece of work that conveys the idea of personal conflict, juxtaposing the idea of resolution within such.

As seen above in Figure 3a., I envisioned an installation piece that made people walk within it, following a circular path - the mess was seen through walking up to it, the conflict, but the idea of a resolution came from walking out as the mess was physically now behind the viewer.

After a class discussion, it became clear that although it was a good idea, it would only be effective in real life size, with a large budget and an abundant open area - neither of which I had. Furthermore, if I was to do a scale model of it, it wouldn't hold the same experiential effect that I would want it to have.

As a basic beginning idea, it was effective in creating a platform in which I could further challenge the idea of representation of conflict and resolution. After a class discussion, and research into the colour theory I found that the colours of paint and technique I used within my Materialisation Six held a great juxtaposition, and also connoted a sense of conflict and irrationality - connecting directly to my idea. Based on this outcome I challenged the idea of the physical representation and how I could showcase the painting style and colour choice; as these would now become the main way in which I showcased the idea of conflict and resolution.
