Week 6 - Tile Impression Molding - October 2018

Tile impression mold. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well this worked, especially how quickly it dried how easily it popped out of the clay mold. I chose to impress some baby hair clips that I've held onto throughout my childhood until now. They're colorful, plastic, animal hair clips that were my mom's when she was kid, and somehow I still had. They're so precious, I wanted to create a little animal scene with them. I colored them with a peachy colored, glittery eye shadow, because I feel like that's what I would have done when I was younger. I like the overall feel of this piece, especially with the soft coloring to it, it feels almost vintage, and seems appropriate for the theme.
