The following is a series of images representing the Life Magazine's Formula for Visual Variety in the Photo Essay used for the Event Project in my Journalistic Editorial Photography Class at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg, Indiana.
This is the introductory shot for my event project. It shows the front of the Vintage Fire Museum and several of the engines used for the 2018 Vintage Fire Museum Annual Muster Parade. A firefighter muster is a traditional celebration where firefighters come together to display their equipment and special skills. This was shot using a Canon EOS 6D Mark II camera with an EF24-105 mm lens. Settings were f/13, SS 1/125, and ISO 160.

This is considered a signature shot. It shows a decisive moment of loading the concrete Dalmatian onto a vintage fire truck for the parade. This was shot using a Canon EOS 6D Mark II camera with an EF24-105 mm lens. Settings were f/22, SS 1/100, and ISO 400.
These three images are considered sequence shots because they show a beginning, middle, and an end to the event providing a sense of action. This was shot using a Canon EOS 6D Mark II camera with an EF24-105 mm lens. Settings for the top image were f/16, SS 1/125, and ISO 160. Settings for the middle image were f/22, SS 1/125, and 160 ISO. Settings for the bottom image were f/20, SS 1/200, and 160 ISO.
This images is considered the clincher because it closes and ends the story being told through pictures. The fire trucks in the Muster Parade were lined up according to age with the oldest being first. The last truck in the parade was the newest engine and belongs to the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
