In the 1930s-40s, Franklin D. Roosevelt put into place the New Deal, which included the Works Progress Administration, or WPA. A result of the agency was an influx of artists, writers, actors, and musician, all employed by the government.

Graphic designers enjoyed creating posters, commissioned by the government, all dealing with public works. The posters all seemed to have a certain tone, style, and feel.

The goal of this project was to create a poster in the spirit of the WPA that deals with a current issue. I've found that many of my peers seem to abuse social media websites (Twitter in particular). If they all realized that their future employer could view all of this information with the click of a button, would they continue to put the things up that they do? It's a simple message, but very effective for my college-aged peers.
