Travel poster of Northern Norway
In February of 2017, I travelled to the the extreme north of Norway for a 10-days roadtrip, with the goal to reach the North Cape and the isolated regions of Finnmark.
During my journey, I stopped at Honningsvag, the last city before reaching the North Cape. This is the starting point of the Hurtigruten, a coastal express that provides supplies to all the remote towns and villages in the north of the country.
As I was waiting for my journey to begin, I managed to snap a photo of a fishing boat sailing out into the polar night, illuminating the fjord with its lights. This image is simple, yet manages to represent the life of people living in these coastal regions beyond the Arctic Circle.
I didn't need much more inspiration in order to come up with a travel poster in order to have this image saved for ever.

This time, all I needed was a few sketches from the photo I took in Norway, in winter of 2017.
Once the sketch was completed, I just had to format the project and use the appropriate range of colours to transcribe the atmosphere and ambience of this photo.

My final design was printed in France on Canson Arches Velin Museum Rag 315g. A wonderful paper with a tiny texture and a type of grain that brings some relief to the final design.
It's a real pleasure to see my print with these strong colours with a mat effect. You will see the textures on these pictures in more details.
