Shop Art is inspired by the pop art movement’s ideas which focuses on consumerist culture, mass production, and advertisement. It does not necessarily criticize or glorify the pop culture, but it emphasizes on the accelerated consumption of goods. Walmart and Amazon have been used as the current symbols of overconsumption. Formal transformation of artifacts imitates the conceptual manipulation of everyday objects that being used by the mass. Shop Art is about having it all and always wanting more.
