Children's Book: "Der Untergang"
"Der Untergang" (English: The Downfall) is my first children's book that I've written and illustrated.
The story begins weird and gets weirder: There is a little rabbit who uses the sun to photosynthesize. But when a fox tells him that the sun will go down his world is shattered. The wordplay (which may only work as such in the German language but maybe you get the idea) leads to a misunderstanding and consequently the rabbit finds himself confronted with dark prospects.
In a humorous conversation the rabbit and the nocturnal fox share different thoughts on life and death, on fear and hope, on good and bad, on eating and being eaten.
I am currently trying to translate the book.
„Der Untergang“ ist mein erstes Kinderbuch, das ich geschrieben und illustriert habe.
Die Geschichte beginnt seltsam und wird seltsamer:
Der kleine Hase betreibt Photosynthese. Doch als ein Fuchs ihm vom Untergang der Sonne erzählt (und er diesen wortwörtlich versteht), sieht der kleine Hase sich mit einem düsteren Schicksal konfrontiert.
In einer humorvollen Unterhaltung philosophieren Fuchs und Hase über Gut und Böse, Verzweiflung und Hoffnung, Fressen und Gefressenwerden.
