Foreign Talk is communication device which helps adoptive parents to interact with their adoptive child who doesn't share the same language during the first few months.
Thanks to explicit icons the users can create simple sentences to communicate his needs or emotions.

Foreign Talk est un outil de communication qui permet aux parents adoptant des enfants qui ne partagent pas la même langue de se comprendre durant les premiers mois.
Grâce à des pictogrammes clairs l'utilisateur peut créer des phrases simples afin de dire ce dont il a besoin ou ce qu'il ressent.

Icons are separated in three different categories to create the sentence:
- The person who is relevant to the need
- The action that the person does
- The object that the person needs

Les pictogrammes sont séparés en trois catégories afin de créer la phrase:
- La personne dont on parle
- L'action faite par cette personne
- L'objet nécessaire
- first colum right to left: I, my brother, my family, my familly, my father, my mother, my brother and I, my parents
- second colum: love, hate, drink, eat, go, want
- third colum : fruits, water, outside, vegetables, milk, play, pasta, candie, wash, rice, warm, sleep, bread, sun, toilets, fish

The communication device is available as an application with a puzzle-style interface. Each piece has its translation underneath it, in both languages.

L'outil de communication existe sous forme d'application avec un style type puzzle.
Chaque pièce du puzzle à sa traduction sous elle, dans les deux langues sélectionnées.
- the puzzle pieces consist of icons which you can scroll up or down to choose the person, action or object that you need.
- the name of the icon in the parent's mother tongue.
- the name of the icon in the child's mother tongue.
1- first choose your child's mother tongue and your mother tongue
2- thanks to the differents icons, create your sentence by choosing the person, the action and the object.
3- once you confirm your choice, the application will correct the grammar of the sentence and suggest an audio version in both language you had selected.
