Phantasm
The word 'Phantsm' in the sense means 'deceptive appearance' from Old French fantasme, via Latin from Greek phantasma, from phantazein 'make visible', from phainein 'to show'. The project is given this title because the people’s fear is based upon the illusion of the ghost and not the ghost itself. The photographs crates the illusion of ghosts inspired from pop culture horror movies and books and the portrayal of the subjects is purely based on these horror fictions. Through-out the series you can see the different techniques used in creating such images such as low shutter and double exposure which creates a ghost like phantasm. The series took over one month to create, most of these images are shot in Wayanad, Calicut and Trivandrum. The visuals are created using Nikon 3100 with 18-55mm and 50mm lenses with a neutral density filter, for post-production works Adobe lightroom 5 was used. Fear is the product of our imagination and we give birth to it, this humble series is a visual aid to my own fears and imagination,
