“The Thing” Movie Title Sequence

For an animated opening sequence, I wanted to reflect the same reserved tension and contrastingly startling action that made John Carpenter’s “The Thing” great. To that end, I illustrated a simple and desolate arctic landscape with an entirely colorless palette, except for the increasing presence of red. I tied it all together with an ominously hollow wind sound effect.
